Flying while fat airlines - Ryanair fat tax

Remeber Ryanair, back in Feb, shook things up with their crazy plan of making passengers pay for the bathroom!

Now the airline is considering making overweight passengers pay by the pound.

To be fair, if you were taking 47 fish suppers with you on holiday you would expect to pay for excess luggage... so really, you shouldnt expect to be able to hide them in your belly and get away with it.

Fair? No?

i don't like sitting by someone who spills over the seat into my lap while flying. if a normal sized person cannot fit comfortably in their seat, how could a 350+ lb person? maybe they should make the seats a little bigger. hey...first class seats are much bigger. maybe they should just insist that anyone over 350 buy a first class ticket in the first place. hm....

Artie could have a point there. That would help solve the seat problem. Otherwise they could be made to buy two fares and then something devised to lay over the two seats to make a comfortable seat for one.

Brilliant Ryanair$$, now just try to remember these are people (with feelings) who in most cases can't help they are overweight. Why not just have a few larger seats available for people who truly need it. As for others who are so uncomfortable sitting next to a slightly heavier person, why not try striking up a conversation with them. Maybe when you get to know them you'll feel better.
